Back in Helsinki

Here we are! Back in Helsinki again. After a month and five days, Helsinki welcomed us with the same cool weather as in St. Petersburg. It feels good to be home again!And now after almost three days after our return, we are having the pleasant 25 °C and sun again. It is hard to set our travel brain modus to anything normal and boring what the everyday life at home sometimes is..., but then again a warm shower, sauna and your own bed is not bad at all after a while. We are still trying to keep up the good travel feeling and Chris hasn´t shaved yet ;).

Excellent journey all in all! We recommend warmly for everyone. Here are some last pictures from St. Petersburg and from the arrival to Helsinki.

We ended the journey with style. First class tickets included breakfast! (Second class was sold out. The first class ticket still half the price that you would pay buying the ticket through finnish railways ;))

Back in Helsinki!

St.Petersburg

The last stop of the trip is the Venice of the North. We arrived here from Moscow with the last night train of the journey. To have some excitement for the journey, Maija left her mobile in the hostel in Moscow and we noticed it as we were already in the train on our way to St.Petersburg. Lesson: we definitely bring some little finnish/german gifts with us for the next longer journey. Let it be the little children in Mongolia, warmhearted hosts or thai tourists who bring your mobile from the last hostel to the next city, some little gifts from your own country would be great ;).

Only one full day left, but let´s not get all sentimental yet ;). We will take the early morning train to Helsinki on Sunday. We hope to have warm weather for the last day. It has been a bit cold in St. Petersburg...
